Teacher Appreciation Week-Bulletin Board & Door Decorations!

Where does the time go? We only have a month left of school! Wow! It's Teacher Appreciation Week next week, so in honor of all our teachers at Blankner I made this Star Wars themed movie preview now hanging in the school's Cafeteria. I listed all the teachers and staff in the credits.
Teacher Appreciation
 4'x12' School Cafeteria Bulletin Board

2011 Teacher Appreciation 3rd Grade Door Decor
(That's Wesley's teacher with Elastigirl's body.)

2010 Teacher Appreciation Pre-K Door Decor
(from Dr. Seuss' "Are You My Mother?")

2010 Teacher Appreciation 2nd Grade Door Decor
(This is Wes' 2nd Grade Teacher.)
Basically, I designed everything and then printed it out at Fed Ex Office on Their Large Format B/W printer. Then I colored everything with soft pastels, cut it all out and mounted it.

Have a great weekend and remember to make our teachers feel extra special next week!

  1. These are so great! I'd definitely feel appreciated if someone made something like this for me (except that I'm not a teacher) xxx

  4. OMG! These are the most creative ones I have seen in a long time. How in the world did you create the print on the Star Wars poster?

  5. Thanks Michelle! I did it on my Mac and then printed it out at FedEx Office. Enlarged B/W printouts are pretty cheap! My kids love Star Wars, so I assume everyone else does too:) I used the back of a Star Wars DVD case and found the fonts that most closely matched on dafont.com (free fonts). It was a huge success. Everyone loved it!

  7. Sure, I'd be happy to send you the art. It's set up as a 36"x80" B/W PDF file. I added the teacher's head and got it printed at FedEx Office very inexpensively. Then I colored it with pastels, cut it out along with the speech bubbles and mounted it on orange banner paper from school. If you want it, I can make you a custom etsy link for $15 because it will take me some time to prep the files for you. Just let me know.

    Thanks,
    Melanie

  18. You said the large format b&w prints are pretty cheap at fed ex. I've used staples engineer prints which are b&w also and are pretty cheap but now I need something a long the size you are using also for a school project. So long sorry short. How cheap is cheap? This is coming out if my pocket like most school projects do. Was it under $10.00?

  20. Hi there! These are amazing. You are so talented! Is it possible to order the Are you My Mother sign customized with a teacher's name? I need it tomorrow (nothing like trying to make a door sign at the last minute!). I obviously don't need the nest full of children, but if the file has an empty nest that I can work with, that would be great! Or, if you told me which program you used and where you found the graphic for the bird (other than copying it from the book itself) perhaps I could figure out how to make it myself. Typing the text is the easy part...it's the graphics and sizing I have trouble with!
